Joe Phelps Memorial Clay Shoot

The Joe Phelps Memorial Clay Shoot will be held on Sat. October 1st 2022
REGISTRATION 8:30AM - SHOTGUN START 9:30AM - LUNCH/AWARDS – AFTER 12 NOON
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND SAFETY BRIEFING and SIGN WAIVERS at event during registration 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT THE LABOR CRISIS FUND, which assists union members and their families in times of crisis, which Joe Phelps managed for many years. Even if you don’t want to shoot, you can come and join us for lunch and awards. Hosted by the Greater Louisville Central Labor Council & Metro United Way, all labor unions, businesses, and individuals are encouraged to participate no matter skill level.
The sporting Clay Tournament will consist of 4-person teams. There will be 100 shots per person and shooting from multiple stations throughout the course. There will also be an awards ceremony with a lunch, included with registration, following the shooting, sometime after 12 Noon, exact time depending on number of participants.

IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR PARTICIPANTS: please purchase shells before Clay Shoot, very limited shells available for purchase at clubhouse. Shooters responsible for their own eye/ear protection, gun, and shells (no magnums, shells are limited to 7 1/2’s, 8’s and 9’s). Shooting glasses and Ear plugs are available for purchase in the club house if you forget to bring your own. Alcohol only allowed during lunch. No unsupervised minors will be allowed to shoot. Event will happen rain or shine.

Shooters may bring their own cart. Volunteers from the gun club will be shuttling shooters.

All Participants MUST attend safety briefing in the morning registration, no matter skill level. If you miss the safety briefing in the Morning, you will not be allowed to participate in the clay shoot. No exceptions.

REGISTRATION & SPONSORSHIP Individual shooter registration is $65. A team of 4 is $260. And you can put multiple teams in the shoot. (shooters may bring a cart this year). Awards will be presented to the Top Shooter & the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place teams. Sponsorship levels are $200 (a small sign will be placed at a shooting station with your logo) $500 (a large sign will be placed at a shooting station with your logo) or $800 (a large sign will be placed at a shooting station with your logo and upon approval you can have vendor booth space during the shoot).

EXPLODING TARGET Folks will be able to purchase a chance to shoot an exploding target for only $10. If a shooter hits the exploding target they will receive 50% of the total monies collected for a chance at the exploding target, the crisis fund would receive the rest.
LUNCH will be provided
GUN RAFFLE Thanks to Academy Sports for donating an American Made Mossberg Maverick 88 shotgun or equal merchandise value to be raffled off. There are only 300 chances, each for $10 and you do not have to be present to win. Again, all of the money raised from this raffle goes directly to the Labor Crisis Fund.
